National Death Index

 

If the person in question may have passed away, the National Death Index of the Social Security Administration is a good place to look. County courthouses are home to copies of local wills that entered into probate. Start with the county and state where the person died to see if an estate is on file.

An asset search from a skilled database researcher can get you get genuine results quickly.  They will quickly work on your behalf.    Some debts have life insurance policies guaranteeing payment.   Debt does survive death, and debt collection when the debtor is deceased is a probate issue.
